FRUIT QUALITY RESEARCH GROUP
The fruit quality research group focuses on developing new strategies to improve fruit quality, as well as the study of food-borne diseases.
FOOD BORNE DISEASES
The FBD workline aims to study bacteria that are pathogenic to humans that can be transmitted through food products.
This study comes not only by studying the bacteria, but also its antibiotic resistance, as well as the interaction of the bacteria with the plants (e.g., if it is only present on the fruit's surface or not). This study is very relevant nowadays, as there is an increasing concern about antibiotic resistant bacteria, with severe implications in human and environmental health.
