Lara's thesis title - "DIVULGAÇÃO DE ASPETOS BENÉFICOS DOS MICRORGANISMOS COM RECURSO A MEIOS AUDIOVISUAIS - UM ESTUDO DE AVALIAÇÃO", supervised by Dr. Mª Conceição Santos and Dr. Betina Lopes.

Lara Amorim attends the Doctoral Program in Science Teaching and Dissemination at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (UPorto), having completed the curriculum year with a grade of 18.3 (2022/2023). She stood out for the proposal of designing nine dynamic dissemination modules for Science Museums and Science Centres, on the theme "Antibiotics and Volatile Susceptibilities of Bacteria". She completed the Specialization Course in Forensic Sciences at UPorto (ICBAS) on July 31, 2012, with a grade of 16. She excelled in Forensic Biology with works on "Detection of viral genotypes for geographical identification of corpses" and in Forensic Anthropology with works on "Taphonomy of bones – microbiological aspects" and "Forensic Diatomology and Drowning". She completed the Specialization Course for Teaching in Group Recruitment-520 at the School of Education of IPVC on June 16, 2010, with a grade of 18, developing the most comprehensive work of the course, with 6 School Intervention Projects. She completed a Master's Degree in Food Science and Technology on May 9, 2008, at the School of Biotechnology, UCP (ESB-UCP), with the dissertation "Selection of lytic-phages to infect Salmonella", approved with Distinction, being the first author of two international articles (doi:10.1155/2009/259456; doi:10.1016/j.foodcont.2009.11.004). She obtained a degree in Microbiology on December 31, 2003, from UC-ESB, with a final internship at the Faculty of Medicine U.Porto, on "Influence of storage processes in adhesion of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to polystyrene" published at the Micro'03 congress, Tomar (16 points in the internship). She has balanced her postgraduate education, research, and teaching professional activities. She completed three Advanced Courses: "1st International Hands-on Phage-Biotechnology Course" (2013/U.Minho); "Essential Molecular Biology– A hands-on laboratory course" (2015/FMUP); "Certification on Hygiene and Food Safety: HACCP-Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points" (2016/CERTFORM). She obtained the "Qualified Teacher Status" (ref:1984876) from the British Department for Education (2020/UK).

She has been a Biology/Geology (BG) teacher in the recruitment group 520 for 14 years. She stood out from 2004-2013 at Colégio de Gaia, where she taught BG and
technical subjects such as Microbiology (for Biological Chemical Analysis, IV-Level Courses of European Qualifications); from 2018 to the present, she has taught mainly Biology/Biology in International Schools. In the meantime, she had activities in companies
(e.g., Nestlé). As a Qualified Teacher, she had 6 years of experience in the Cambridge International curriculum, at Lower Secondary (Science), Pre-Advanced, and Advanced levels (Biology) (equivalent to 6th-8th, 9th-10th, 11th-12th grades, respectively), with
experience in two International Schools – Colégio Luso-Internacional do Porto and Colégio Júlio Dinis International School. She is a registered trainer at CCPFC for Microbiology and Environmental Sciences areas. She is part of the COST Network-"MiCropBiomes",
where she is in charge of communication on the topic to the community.

In 2022, she published another article (https://www.mdpi.com/1999-4923/14/11/2344),
currently having 3 articles. She is the first author of the book "Biotechnology-laboratory protocols for health sciences" (ISBN: 9789896430924); she also published online (https://www.ib2lab.com/)
activities for teachers and students in microbiology. She also has 3 conference presentations, and at the VII-International Congress on Science Teaching: SIEC_2024 (June 2024). In her Ph.D., she works in the area of Science Education and Dissemination with
emphasis on Microbiology and the role of the human Microbiota. She has organized several scientific events in schools: "Rocks and Minerals" fair, "World Science Day Exhibition", "Open-Labs’ Day", "Seashells Exhibition", "IGCSE Science Escape Room", "Meet the
Microbes", having prepared various dissemination activities (posters, leaflets) in the annual school magazine for the school community.
